TreadRight Celebrates World Oceans Day 2016

At TreadRight, we know the ocean is a big deal. You can’t help but travel the world and notice that the vast majority of it – 71% to be precise - is covered by ocean. You also can’t help but notice that our oceans are absolutely integral to all known life, making it undeniably the most important entity on Earth. The oceans regulate the climate, feed millions, produce oxygen, and are home to a nearly unimaginable array of wildlife, much of which still remains a mystery to us. Which is why we always make sure to take time and recognize World Oceans Day – celebrated on June 8 - as a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future.

Why We Celebrate World Water Day

World Water Day is an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water related issues, be inspired to tell others and take action to make a difference. World Water Day dates back to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development where an international observance for water was recommended. The United Nations General Assembly responded by designating March 22, 1993 as the first World Water Day. It has been held annually since then.
