TreadRight’s project partners are always up to something inspiring so there’s no shortage of events and efforts for us to celebrate, but every once and awhile our partners announce something so huge that we have to take an extra moment to applaud the incredible achievement.

Our Wildlife pillar partners at Wildlife SOS – India have just pulled off such an historic achievement with the launch of India’s very first hospital for elephants!

Outfitted with top-notch, state-of-the-art medical gear, the new facility will allow Wildlife SOS to provide the best possible care to as many as three elephants at a time. New gear and equipment in the 12,000-square foot Wildlife SOS Elephant Hospital include, but are not limited to, wireless digital x-ray equipment, thermal imaging and ultrasonography labs, hydrotherapy ponds, quarantine facilities, and a medical hoist for comfortably lifting and moving elephants who need specialized intensive care. The Wildlife SOS hospital staff will also be able to monitor ailing elephants 24 hours a day via an infrared closed-circuit system.

An observation deck has also been built inside the hospital so that it can also serve as a center to train everyone who works with elephants in India, ensuring veterinarians, students, interns, and elephant caretakers all have excellent sightlines from which to observe Wildlife SOS’s elephant medical treatment techniques and approach to humane elephant management and compassionate care.

Jumbo-sized congratulations go out to the hard-working and endlessly dedicated team at Wildlife SOS – India from TreadRight and the TTC family of brands on this wonderful achievement!
