The WTTC’s Tourism for Tomorrow Awards aim to recognize best practices in sustainable tourism within the travel and tourism industry worldwide.
An independent panel of judges, including some of the world’s most authoritative experts on sustainable development, and a stringent application process involving site visits by these experts, has earned the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards respect among key audiences – including industry, government and international media.
The Tourism for Tomorrow Awards focus on four key categories: Destination Stewardship Award, Conservation Award, Community Benefit Award and the Global Tourism Business Award. Each year, winners and finalists are honoured at a special ceremony during the Global Travel and Tourism Summit, one of the highest profile events in the industry.
TreadRight’s support encouraged the sharing of best practice among tourism operators, promoted sustainability throughout the industry and helped to raise awareness about the environmental and cultural challenges faced by destinations and communities internationally.
